Forging Justice: Creating Safe, Equal and Accountable Communities



HAVEN, Oakland County’s center for the treatment and prevention of domestic violence and sexual assault, in partnership with the National Organization for Men Against Sexism, is seeking workshop proposals for the 38th National Conference on Men and Masculinity, “Forging Justice: Creating Safe, Equal and Accountable Communities (assembly required).”


The conference theme is understanding gender-based violence as a social justice issue, featuring plenaries and workshops within this theme.


The conference will be August 8, 9 & 10, 2013 at The Doubletree by Hilton-Fort Shelby, in Detroit, MI. Hotel accommodations can be booked here:

If you are local, and are willing to volunteer to transport folks as needed (primarily to and from airport/train/bus stations), please indicate that in the comments section of your registration.

If you are interested in attending the conference but cannot afford the $175 fee, we do have a limited ability to provide financial aid. Priority will be given to women of color, LGBTQIA people of color, people under 21 and residents of the City of Detroit. Funds are based on availability.
